OPTIONAL. The Core Program was originally designed for patients suffering from Major Depression, and is not a mental health panacea. But other diagnostic groups have also taken the program, and many depressed clients have comorbidities. A discussion of the advisability (or not) of including clients with various disorders, things to watch for, and suggestions to make the group more useful. The discussion includes: Dysthymia, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, the various anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, developmental disorders, active substance abuse, and anorexia nervosa.
