Welcome.

I'm Randy Paterson, a Vancouver-based psychologist. I have been teaching psychotherapy workshops and supervising trainees for over 30 years, and conducting evidence-based therapy for longer still.

My publications include The Assertiveness Workbook, How to be Miserable: 40 Strategies You Already Use, How to be Miserable in Your 20s, Your Depression Map, and Private Practice Made Simple.

I believe that education programs need to be clear, entertaining, and down to earth, and I hope that I've been able to live up to those goals with the programs I offer here.

You'll find material on a variety of topics, most of them grounded in the principles of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT). Some are designed for mental health professionals to augment their practices; others are meant directly for members of the public.

My topics include depression, anxiety, communication skills, stress management, life satisfaction, managing the transition from adolescence to adulthood, and more.

My courses are available to you at any time and for as long as you wish. Mental health professionals can receive CE credit for many of the programs.

Take a look. I hope that you will find something that will help you in your work or your life. See you inside.
